Jenson is absolutely a worthy winner.

Jenson Button

So, Jenson Button has won the world championship and Britain has had two Formula One champs in as many years, with Lewis Hamilton coming up trumps last season. This is the first time Britain has had back to back winners since 1968-69 when Graham Hill and then Jackie Stewart won the world championship consecutively. But is Jenson Button as worthy a winner as Hamilton, Hill or Stewart. Of course!

I fail to see any argument against Button being a worthy winner. He has finished inside the points paying positions in all the races so far this season bar just one, in which he retired. He has been on the podium in half of the races run this season and that is a championship warranting  performance if I had ever saw one, not to mention his heroic drive in Brazil in the penultimate race.

The FIA allowed the disputed ‘double diffuser’ which probably did give Brawn an advantage, and Jenson probably did win the championship in the first half of the season, but at the end of the day, none of that matters. Brawn and Jenson have played by the rules and have pulled a fairytale win out of the bag, and there is no reason whatsoever why they are not worthy winners. Just thought I would clear that up.
