Despite being the bookies’ favourite going into it, Jenson Button has finished runner up at the BBC‘s Sports Personality Of The Year award, being beaten by Manchester United footballer Ryan Giggs.

The Sports Personality Of The Year award is awarded to the sportsperson “whose actions have most captured the public’s imagination.”
