World Champion Jenson Button will be honoured with an MBE, according to the Sunday Mirror newspaper.

Lewis Hamilton was awarded an MBE in 2008 after winning the F1 title, and it appears his team-mate will now follow suit, although an official announcement will not be made until next week.

The honour caps off a fantastic year for Button, who was only 100-1 to win the title in January – I wish I’d had a few quid on that.

The MBE is the initial chivalry class of the Order of the British Empire, just in case you were wondering.
