A rumour is circulating that Nelson Piquet Jr has signed a three-year contract with Campos Meta in a move that would see him line up alongside Bruno Senna to form an all Brazilian line-up with the Spanish outfit.
According to Spanish website motor21.com, the deal follows at 15% purchase of the team by former triple world champion Nelson Piquet senior.
There is no firm weight behind this rumour at the moment, though – so we’ll have to wait and see.

Nice update.
I doubt I’ll ever write about Piquet or anyone else involved in that incident as it may turn into a big, long rant
I hope it hasn’t happened. He seemed to have dropped out of contention and it would seem very limiting to a new team to just have two Brazilians (they need all the money and sponsors they can get). Merc and Mclaren may have drivers of the same nationality but they are established teams.
I would be furious if Piquet were ever to return. I don’t think he should be allowed to drive a road car or even a kart.
He was a man who chose to crash a car, how can anyone race against him at those speeds with complete trust? He also only revealed the truth to spite someone else in my view and got a pat on the back for it. If he loves this sport so much I don’t understand how any of this could happen (I feel the same about the others involved too).
Anyway thanks for info/news
Thanks for the comment Steph.
While I agree that he shouldn’t have crashed, I have always stuck up for Piquet with my argument being that he was under pressure from that monster Briatore, and his job was probably on the line if he didn’t crash.
We only have Piquet to thank for whistleblowing, and bringing this situation to light – hopefully this is the last time this will ever happen.
Good he told the truth but never liked his motives. I always disliked Briatore but in the end it comes down to one man having the steering wheel in his hand and choosing to crash. Plenty of people are under pressure with their jobs in the real word to make ends meet but they get on with it. In f1 plenty of drivers under pressure to deliver but there is always a choice.
Piquet always had other options anyway with a new team and with his father’s money.
I absolutely agree Briatore was wrong but Piquet was just ask guilty. In the end he turned the wheel into the wall. He could have walked away said ‘look how much pressure I had and what he wanted me to do’ but he didn’t.
