Jenson Button’s helmet design for 2010 could have been revealed thanks to @honeybee85 on Twitter.

@honeybee85 or Melissa Nathoo, won McLaren’s competition to appear in the team’s 2010 campaign photoshoot, and went down to the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking for the shoot yesterday, meeting McLaren’s new driver – reigning world champ Jenson Button in the process.

She later posted a photo (left) on Twitpic of her and Jenson, who just so happened to be wearing a McLaren t-shirt at the time, with an image of what could be his 2010 helmet.

The helmet looked like one of Button’s classic blue & red Union Jack helmets he sported at Honda before moving to the Brawn GP team where he changed his helmet colour to match the fluorescent yellow theme on the championship winning car.

It appears that this could be exactly what Jenson’s helmet looks like in 2010:

Yey that was worth the wait Jack. I adore helmet designs! Nice spot.
As for the helmet I wish drivers had their own colours and not just their country etc but it’s nice how he is reverting back to his own helmet tradition!

Sorry, this was originally posted to the Midweek Motorsport Listeners Collective on 17 November 2009 and is a mock-up by Andy Blackmore Design.

Look at the News page on the website shown on the helmet. It’s a hoax. Nice one, though. Almost matches the real one. Only SAP is no longer a McLaren sponsor.
