Mercedes-Benz have revealed images of the 2010 F1 safety car. The ‘gullwing’ Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG will be used this season, and it is the most powerful F1 safety car ever. The SLS is replacing the SL 63 AMG which was previously used. The Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG estate will continue on in its third year as the F1 medical car.
Volker Mornhinweg, Chief Executive Officer of Mercedes-AMG GmbH said:
“Together with the entire AMG Team, I am very proud that the new SLS AMG is the official F1 safety car. I’m sure all Mercedes and AMG fans will be excited to see the gullwing model together with the new Mercedes GP Petronas Team at the F1 circuits.”

The safety car will continue in the safe hands of the 38-year-old German Bernd Mayländer.
The car’s 6.3-litre V8 engine has a peak output of 420 kW (571 hp) and a maximum torque of 650 Nm, enabling it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds

If not wrong the top speed of this car is 317 km/h which is electronically limited & is believed to have an fuel consumption of 13.2 litres per 100 kilometers.I don't think Bernd Mayländer needs to worry about that.
Love the doors but it's just ugly…
Car Safety is always on the top of my head that is my i always use modern gadgets that could enhance the safety of my brand new car.`”;
