Ferrari have confirmed that they will be bringing updates to Valencia, as reported by a wide range of news outlets, although they are not as significant as previously suggested.

The most significant feature is a new configuration for the exhaust system, aimed at improving the aerodynamic efficiency of the car. There will also be additional aero updates to the rear end of the car. However, these changes are just the first in a series of improvements to the F10 which will roll out over what is a very busy part of the season, with four races coming in the space of the next five weeks preceding the summer break.

Fernando Alonso will be racing in his second Grand Prix this season in front of his Spanish home crowd, and is dreaming of a win come Sunday afternoon:

“Hopefully we can see a competitive Ferrari in Valencia. I think that the circuit layout is quite good for us. The goal is for a podium on Sunday afternoon, the dream is to win the race. I think that we arrive with quite a good atmosphere within the team, we are very optimistic.”

Felipe Massa has a 100% win record at Valencia after winning in 2008 and missing last year’s race, and says that the circuit is not too different to that of the Circuit de Gilles Villeneuve in Canada:

“Valencia is a circuit close to Canada in terms of layout; you have some straights, very important braking points, some chicanes, some kerbs and traction and top speed is important. This is quite similar to Montreal where had a good car l for the race.”
